Social Snap 1.1.4 includes a few minor features, migration support for Social Warfare as well as small fixes and improved security.
Social Warfare Migration Support
We are seeing many users migrating from Social Warfare to Social Snap. More than likely this is due to their recent vulnerability and security concerns. Our users were looking for an easy way to migrate their settings and shares, especially if they had a lot of posts.
Lucky for you, our plugin migration tool now supports Social Warfare migration and allows for instant and seamless migration to Social Snap. In just one click you can migrate your global settings, individual post settings and share counts right from Social Warfare.
How To Migrate From Social Warfare to Social Snap
First, simply deactivate Social Warfare. Then download and install Social Snap.
From your WordPress Dashboard, go to Social Snap » Settings » Advanced » Plugin Migration.
If our Plugin Migration tool recognizes Social Warfare data, you should see Social Warfare tab in the Plugin Migration settings.
On that screen there are two buttons:
- Import Settings – this will migrate general and individual post settings.
- Import Share Counts – some social networks no longer have share counts, such as Google+ and LinkedIn. This option will import all share counts previously stored by Social Warfare.
That’s all! Easy as that.
Force Refresh Share Counts
A common feature request was around the ability to force refresh share counts. If your not
You can now manually refresh share counts by using the “Force Refresh Now” button in Social Snap » Settings » Social Sharing » Manage Networks screen.
Again, this is extremely useful when you make any changes that affect share counts and you don’t want to wait for share count cache to expire.
The team behind Social Snap takes the security of our plugin very serious. We’re striving to not only be the #1 social sharing plugin but also the performant and secure.
Every line of code is carefully tested and reviewed by our developers and security experts.
In addition to our own team, we’re in the process of having our plugin reviewed and audited by a 3rd party security company to ensure the highest level of security. More on that soon!
